  1. Treatment for Alcoholism, drug or substance abuse or any addictive condition and consequences thereof. Excl12
  2. Dietary supplements and substances that can be purchased without prescription, including but not limited to vitamins, minerals and organic substances unless prescribed by a medical practitioner as part of hospitalisation claim or day care procedure. Code – Excl14
  3. Refractive Error: Expenses related to the treatment for correction of eye sight due to refractive error less 7.5 dioptres. Code – Excl15
  4. Circumcision unless necessary for the treatment of an Illness not otherwise excluded in this Section, or required as a result of Accidental Bodily Injury.
  5. Pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses are not covered under Maternity benefit

  • What is Cholamandalam MS Group Health Insurance?

    Chola MS Group Health Insurance provides coverage for hospitalisation expenses for illness or injury on an indemnity basis. The policy is offered on a Family Floater basis, and cashless facility is available at a network of over 11,000 hospitals nationwide. Premium paid under the cholams group health insurance qualifies for tax exemption under Section 80D of the Insurance Act.

  • Who is eligible for Cholamandalam MS Group Health Insurance?

    Bank of Baroda account holder can avail of the Chola group health insurance plan. The policy term is one year from the commencement date, and there are multiple sum insured options to choose from.

  • Can I add my family members to the group health insurance plan

    Under the family floater option, dependents such as spouse, children (between 3 months to 26 years), and parents can be included in the Chola MS group health insurance policy . It is necessary to include dependents at the time of proposing for the policy, as midterm inclusion is not allowed except for newborn babies or newly married individuals. Eligibility for coverage extends to adults aged 18 to 70 years and children aged 3 months to 26 years.

  • What is the claim process for Cholamandalam MS Group Health Insurance?

    Claims shall be processed on Cashless or Reimbursement basis:

    1. Cashless process:
    • Download the network hospital list from
    • Obtain pre-authorization 72 hours before planned admission or within 48 hours for emergencies.
    1. Reimbursement  process:
    • Notify us in writing, email (, or phone before admission for elective hospitalizations.
    • Notify us within 2 days of admission or before discharge for emergency hospitalizations.
    • Submit claim documents, including the filled and signed claim form, within 30 days of discharge/treatment completion.
  • Is there a waiting period for pre-existing conditions under Cholamandalam MS Group Health Insurance?

    Cholamandalam MS Group Health Insurance applies a 24-month waiting period for pre-existing conditions.
