Bank of Baroda has a rich legacy of serving its loyal & huge customer base with innovative market-oriented and customer centric approaches, to fulfil their financial needs and stay connected with them. Since majority of India’s population has their roots in rural areas and even today the country’s economy is influenced by agricultural activities to a great extent, we have focused on engaging the farmers and rural masses engaged in agriculture sector from time to time.

One such unique initiative launched by our Bank in 2018 is annual celebration of fortnight long “Baroda Kisan Pakhwada”, from 16th October 2021 to 30th October 2021 and “Baroda Kisan Diwas” on 16th October coinciding with “World Food Day”. These are farmer outreach programme by our bank with the prime objective to acknowledge and appreciate the contribution of the farming community to the economy and growth of our nation. The fortnight marks organizing various farmer outreach events, knowledge series, felicitation programme etc. Continuing the legacy, we are planning to celebrate “Baroda Kisan Pakhwada” from16th October 2021 to 30th October 2021 and “Baroda Kisan Diwas” on 16th Oct’21 this year, by adopting theme of ‘World Food Day’ i.e. “Our Actions are our Future”.

This initiative of reaching out to the farmers has been participated and appreciated at various levels i.e. Government of India, NABARD, State Governments etc. The event organised in 2018 was acknowledged by “Limca Book of Records” as the largest farmer engagement programme of this nature in the country.

During the last 2 editions of Baroda Kisan pakhwada and baroda Kisan Diwas, our Rural & Semi Urban Branches have organized a cumulative of 56727 events (Kisan Mela, Chouplas and Health Camps for farmers, Animals and Soil) thereby connecting to1224452 farmers.
