Common Areas of Customer - Banker Relationship
Payment of balance in accounts of the deceased Depositors to Survivors/Claimants
In absence of nomination, the bank may not insist on succession certificate from legal heir/s irrespective of amount involved provided there is no court order restraining the bank from making payment from the account of the deceased depositor. However, the bank may adopt such safeguards in considering settling of claims as appropriate including accepting an Indemnity Bond with or without sureties.
